Catching The Egg: Understanding the Risks in Swaying in The Lunar Method

Today, we’re diving deep into the intricate world of swaying for gender and the potential risks that accompany this journey. One of the key concepts we’ll explore is what we refer to as "Catching the Egg." This term describes a situation where ovulation occurs in an undesired phase, but couples attempt to conceive during the following desired phase, hoping to influence the gender of their baby by timing intercourse just right. Many believe that simply catching the egg is all that matters, thinking that if sperm meets the egg at the right time, they can dictate the desired gender. Unfortunately, this assumption is misleading and can lead to a high rate of conception failures.
Reflecting back to late 2021 early 2022, I recall poring over hundreds of sway data submitted by women eager to share their experiences. From old sways to new sways. It was during this meticulous examination that we began to uncover a striking pattern. After identifying several failed sways, I reached out to my colleague Samantha, eager to share my findings. I sent her a trove of data without initially revealing my observations, knowing that our discussions often unfolded in a similar manner.
As we compared notes, it became clear that many of the sways that didn’t succeed shared a common thread: women ovulated in a boy phase but attempted to conceive during the girl phase. This realization was significant, particularly as Samantha reviewed sways that had failed just days prior to this discovery. Understanding that we were observing similar patterns underscored the importance of grasping the science behind our methods.
The egg plays a critical role in selecting the sperm. When the egg is released from the ovaries, it emits chemical signals known as chemoattractants. These signals are released from the cumulus cells of the egg(oocyte); they guide the sperm towards the egg, creating a gradient that leaves a trail for the sperm to follow. Importantly, the egg does not wait for sperm to arrive; it starts releasing these signals immediately upon release. (Study Here-https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2515641/)  This means that if the egg is in a boy phase and chemoattractants are already released, attempting to conceive during the girl phase hours later may still attract the wrong sperm, leading to unintended outcomes.
This brings us to another key risk we’ve identified: the Void of Course (VOC) Moon phase.

VOC: Void of Course Moon a 50:50 Phase

The Moon's Journey and VOC Phases

The Moon constantly travels through the zodiacs as it orbits the Earth, covering 360 degrees in its cycle. Each of the 12 zodiac signs receives 30 degrees during the 29.5-day lunar cycle from New Moon to New Moon, averaging about 2.458 days per sign. However, not every sign maintains this duration due to the significant influence of the VOC.
The Void of Course Moon refers to a specific period in the lunar cycle when the Moon is not making any major aspects (such as conjunctions, squares, trines, etc.) with other planets before it transitions into the next zodiac sign. During this time, the Moon is considered to be "inactive" or "floating," leading to a temporary lack of direction or clarity in its influences.
The VOC Moon can last anywhere from a few minutes to several hours and occasionally extends beyond half a day. The duration of this phase depends on the Moon's speed and its astrological conditions at that time. Each VOC period is unique and can vary significantly from one lunar cycle to another.

Astrological Significance

Astrologers believe that the VOC Moon weakens the Moon's influence, making it a time of unpredictability and uncertainty. This lack of major aspects can lead to a sense of aimlessness and can affect emotional states, decision-making, and new endeavors. Since the VOC Moon is seen as a less favorable time for initiating significant actions, it is generally advised to use this period for reflection, introspection, and completing ongoing tasks rather than starting new projects or making important decisions. This is particularly relevant for activities that require clarity and focus, such as swaying for gender.

This is particularly relevant for activities that require clarity and focus, such as swaying for gender.

It’s Impact on Swaying for Gender

When it comes to swaying for gender, timing is critical. Engaging in conception attempts during the VOC (Void of Course) Moon may lead to unreliable outcomes. The Moon governs emotions and instincts, and its diminished influence during this phase might result in less favorable conditions for achieving desired results.
The lack of significant astrological aspects during the VOC Moon can disrupt the natural flow of energy that typically accompanies conception efforts. Some say the exception is when your Lunar Fertile Day (LFD) aligns with the VOC, but even then, there are significant risks. Any LFD falling within a VOC zone greatly increases the likelihood of conception in the next phase, which is how LFD works to achieve the desired gender within the Jonas Method®️.
Even if other factors align correctly, such as timing intercourse during the desired phase, the overall effectiveness may be compromised if done during a VOC period. Additionally, the VOC Moon can sometimes bring about feelings of uncertainty, confusion, or indecision. These emotional states can affect mindset and focus, which are essential when trying to achieve specific goals like gender swaying. It’s important to enter such endeavors with a clear and positive mindset, something that may be harder to maintain during this phase.

Logical Advice

To maximize the chances of a successful sway, it is highly recommended to avoid trying to conceive during the VOC Moon. Instead, focus on preparation, research, and reflection during this time, and plan to engage in conception efforts once the Moon has entered a new sign and established aspects with other planets.
Keeping track of the lunar phases and understanding the timings of VOC periods can be beneficial for anyone interested in astrology and gender swaying. By aligning conception efforts with favorable lunar conditions, individuals can enhance their chances of achieving their desired outcomes.

Overall on Voc

The Void of Course Moon plays a significant role in astrology and can impact various aspects of life, including decision-making and conception efforts. By understanding the implications of this lunar phase, individuals can better navigate their swaying strategies, ensuring that they engage in conception attempts during more favorable astrological conditions. Awareness of the VOC Moon encourages thoughtful planning and reflection, which are essential elements in the pursuit of achieving specific reproductive goals.
Next, pH and lubricants—topics that have sparked considerable debate among those interested in swaying.

pH and its Role in The Lunar Method™

Many women believe they can influence their chances of conception by adjusting their pH or using certain lubricants. However, this can have detrimental effects on sperm viability. Sperm undergo a process called capacitation, which is essential for fertilization, and this process relies on the chemical signals from the egg. Altering the natural pH environment can hinder sperm's ability to read these signals, ultimately leading to increased chances of conception failure.
Additionally, the use of certain lubricants poses risks. Research has shown that many commercially available lubricants can kill off sperm within a short period, drastically reducing the chances of conception. It is essential that the reproductive environment remains in a natural alkaline state to support sperm survival and function.
The debate around pH adjusting and lubricants is prominent among women trying to conceive, as many mistakenly believe these products are compatible with successful conception methods. Sperm undergo a crucial process called capacitation, which is necessary for fertilization and relies on chemical reactions with chemoattractants emitted by the egg. If the sperm cannot properly read these signals due to alterations in the natural environment, the chances of the wrong sperm being selected for fertilization increase, thereby raising the risk of conception failure.
Altering any aspect of your natural reproductive environment, including pH, can significantly impact sperm's ability to read chemoattractants. This misreading could lead to the wrong sperm completing the capacitation process and fertilizing the egg. It's important to note that adjusting your natural pH can also adversely affect your chances of conception.
Numerous studies have indicated that many lubricants and pH-adjusting products can completely kill sperm within a short time frame. In tests, over 73% of sperm were found dead within just 30 minutes of exposure to these products, greatly reducing the chances of conception. Many women do not have ideal fertile windows each month, leading to further complications and extended time frames to achieve pregnancy. Therefore, it is crucial to avoid any actions that may lower conception rates and instead focus on enhancing fertility.
For sperm to survive and fertilize an egg, the reproductive environment must remain in a natural alkaline state. Attempting to adjust your pH only alters the vaginal environment, which does not affect the internal environment where the sperm must thrive. This alteration can kill the sperm or prevent any surviving sperm from reading the internal environment and vital chemoattractants. pH plays an essential role in maintaining the functionality of sperm during fertilization. Thus, any attempts to modify it only hinder sperm survival and their ability to interact with their environment, which is crucial for the success of conception, as well as determining the favorable conditions for conceiving a boy or girl.

A New “Lube” Mustard Seed Oil

Another concerning trend we’ve noticed is the use of mustard seed oil. While some claim it can enhance conception chances, the reality is that it may cause sperm to become overly hyperactive, negatively impacting their ability to fertilize the egg.
We’ve seen several cases where the addition of mustard seed oil led to failed sways, primarily based on data collected from women who did not follow our method but used mustard seed oil nonetheless. Furthermore, mustard seed oil carries health risks due to high levels of erucic acid, which can be detrimental to the body. This compound is linked to various health issues and is banned for internal use in several countries, including the USA, UK, and Canada. We strongly advise women to avoid using mustard seed oil in any form, especially as a lubricant.
The rising trend of women using mustard seed oil to increase their chances of conception, or in some cases to sway for a girl, is not supported by factual evidence. Research on mustard seed oil has consistently shown that it only causes sperm to become overly hyperactive, which does not aid in swaying and can lead to complications in achieving pregnancy.
We have already noted several instances of failures and concerns regarding mustard seed oil’s safety in relation to our method. By collecting data from women who did not follow our method but tracked their cycles using Basal Body Temperature (BBT) and Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs), we analyzed cases where mustard seed oil was used. This research indicates that adding mustard seed oil can potentially harm a perfectly good sway, similar to the risks associated with certain lubricants.
Our extensive research has demonstrated that mustard oil's only significant effect is causing hyperactivation in sperm. This hyperactivity poses a risk when using our method, as overly hyperactive sperm cannot maintain their natural state needed to read the environment and locate the egg effectively. Additionally, mustard seed oil has a strong, pungent smell, making it an undesirable choice for intimacy.
Moreover, mustard seed oil is banned in the USA, UK, and Canada for internal use due to the high levels of erucic acid, a fatty acid that can be harmful to health. This substance is not metabolized properly by the body and can harm brain cells, leading to various health issues. Erucic acid is associated with mental disorders, memory impairment, and can also cause skin rashes, swelling, and in severe cases, shock.
There is a small study suggesting that using mustard oil for cooking, in moderation (no more than 2 tablespoons mixed with 3 tablespoons of another oil), can help mitigate the effects of erucic acid when heated properly. However, this should be strictly limited to cooking purposes and does not eliminate the risks associated with its use as a lubricant. Therefore, we strongly advise women to avoid mustard oil altogether to prevent health risks and avoid the potential for a failed sway, which is the last outcome anyone would want to experience.

LFD Near Bio-ovulation

Now, let’s turn our attention to the significant interplay between Lunar Fertile Day (LFD) and biological ovulation. Women must pay close attention to their LFD in relation to their ovulation phase, as failing to do so can lead to unintended outcomes.
Conception may occur on the LFD rather than during the desired biological ovulation, resulting in a gender outcome that does not align with the intended sway. If biological ovulation occurs after the LFD, it can pull the ovulation closer to or even onto the LFD. It’s essential to avoid swaying if the LFD is up to five days past expected ovulation to prevent accidental failures. When biological ovulation and LFD line up, it can yield favorable results for conception and desired gender, provided that LFD is not too close to the end of the phase. It’s critical to adhere to normal ovulation guidelines rather than solely relying on LFD guidelines when navigating this complex landscape.
One of the biggest risks we see within sways is when women are not paying attention to where their LFD falls in relation to their biological ovulation. We have noted several failures due to women not checking their LFD information and conceiving the opposite gender on their LFD. This can occur even if women engage in intercourse early, thinking they are safe from their normal surge, only to ovulate a day after their LFD.
Consequently, conception may happen on the LFD instead of during the desired biological ovulation phase, leading to an unintended gender outcome. If the LFD occurs after biological ovulation, it can pull the normal ovulation closer to or onto the LFD, which adds complexity to the swaying process.
Swaying with the LFD too close to biological ovulation can be risky. Some women may not notice the change in their ovulation pattern being drawn closer to the LFD, but we have seen this happen multiple times. When this shift occurs, it can pull ovulation into an undesired phase, resulting in a failed sway. Engaging in intercourse close to the LFD can also lead to the risk of conceiving twins or having conception occur solely on the LFD, which is not the intended outcome. Unless twins are ok for you.
We advise women against swaying if their LFD is up to five days past expected ovulation to prevent accidental failures. If you still choose to sway, please be aware of the risks involved, particularly when the LFD aligns with the opposite gender after biological ovulation. When biological ovulation and LFD coincide, it can produce favorable results for conception and desired gender, as long as the LFD is not too close to the end of the phase. It's important to follow normal ovulation guidelines instead of solely relying on LFD guidelines in such situations.
It’s essential to remember that our method is based around a woman’s hormonal cycle, which influences the conception rate. Each woman's cycles and ovulation patterns differ and can fluctuate from one cycle to the next. While our primary focus is not exclusively on LFD, considering it is crucial. From the beginning of developing this method, we recognized that an LFD close to biological ovulation could impact the biological ovulation sway.
Our guidelines regarding LFD and biological ovulation are based on clear data collected from the very start. The LFD sway and biological ovulation sway should not be viewed as the same; they are distinctly different. The LFD sway is solely based on when conception occurs, which is why it's important to have a minimum of 18-20 hours left in the phase. Dr. Jonas noted that the influence of the moon naturally adjusts a woman’s reproductive environment according to the zodiac phase, creating an optimal setting for conceiving either a boy or girl. He emphasized that no artificial adjustments are needed; instead, the moon should be allowed to naturally influence the body's environment.
It is vital to understand that while biological ovulation and hormonal sways function differently, it is still crucial not to force or alter your reproductive environment. Allowing your body to naturally align everything necessary for a biological ovulation sway is essential. A biological ovulation sway is determined by when ovulation occurs, not just conception, as is the case with an LFD sway. Remember, these two types of sways are not the same and do not operate in the same manner. When an egg is released, it emits chemoattractants in the surrounding fluids that signal the sperm where the egg can be found and which sperm it prefers. Essentially, the egg chooses which sperm it wants; if ovulation occurs in the female phase, the chemoattractants will signal for female sperm, and vice versa in the male phase.

IUI & The Risk of Trigger Shots

Lastly, we must address the compatibility of IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) with our method. Our findings indicate that IUI is not compatible with this approach due to the sperm washing process, which often includes the addition of antibiotics and supplements. This disruption interferes with the sperm's ability to read the chemoattractants released by the egg, resulting in a significant increase in the chances of a failed sway. Just like with adjusting pH and adding lubricants, the IUI process disturbs the natural ability of sperm to properly read these essential signals, which can render the odds of conception a mere 50/50. This example further solidifies why adding substances or altering the natural process before or during ovulation is incompatible with our method.
We have consistently observed that women who have used our method while undergoing IUI show ovulation timing that aligns with when the procedure occurred, yet the results remain 50/50. This highlights the importance of maintaining the natural processes involved in conception, as IUI often requires close monitoring to ensure it coincides with ovulation.

Trigger Shots

Also on the topic of trigger shots, while they are not inherently risky, timing is crucial. Trigger shots typically prompt ovulation 36 to 42 hours after administration, but individual responses can vary. This variability can lead to ovulation occurring outside the desired phase, increasing the risk of a failed sway. Our data indicates, that our trigger shot ratio of women using and timing it correctly to fall within phase is 75% of the time. Obviously every woman is different so there are chances you will fall into that 25% but obviously if it falls within phase, their odds have been 100%. So there does pose an element of risk.
